# Minerva Wallet

Minerva is the only wallet for self-sovereign identities🦉and moneys 💵. It allows you to maintain full control over your funds, credentials and data. 🚀

The Minerva Wallet is built for the decentralized commons infrastructure, lifting commons to eye level with companies. It supports various EVM chains and has a stronghold on the Gnosis Chain (fka xDai Chain), where the worlds first native streaming token [MIVA](/miva-and-xdai-chain/miva-token) was launched.

### Q3/2022

The "Bear" was in full swing this quarter and the mood changed accordingly. Almost any project did experience much less interaction with its users and so did we as well. Nevertheless, we could successfully start the first Snapshot voting and will continue on that path to engage with our users in a meaningfull way. We also presented at ETHPrague and DAppcon our current work and also some ideas how to make wallets more accessable. This provided also great opportunities to engage with other teams and their projects.&#x20;

#### Economical roadmap:

* [x] Use $MIVA for Snapshot votes about feature prioritization  &#x20;
* [x] Add more tokens to be purchased via Ramp.Network
* [x] Present at conferences ([ETHPrague 2022](https://youtu.be/UtBtGACPv1E), [DAppCon 2022](https://youtu.be/0LzeGpo_Nzw))
* [x] Forge more cooperations (Celo, Optimism, ...)

#### Technical roadmap:

* [x] Added Celo network (v1.7.9)

* [x] New 'Open in Explorer' function in options (v1.7.8)
* [x] Unified QR-code scanner for address detection and WalletConnect
* [x] Set networks to unmaintained: POA Core, ARTIS ∑1, Rinkeby & Ropsten&#x20;

### Q2/2022

This quarter was dominated by uncertainty about a looming crypto winter, but that are also good times building new features with less interruptions. Layer 2 support as well as preparations for The Merge of Ethereum was in focus. Due to the changes, several test networks have been deprecated and new ones were added. Therefore several networks had to be sunsetted and to get better feedback from our users we launched the first Snapshot vote for Minerva.&#x20;

#### Economical roadmap:

* [x] Prepare to use $MIVA for Snapshot votes  &#x20;
* [x] Add more tokens to be purchased via Ramp.Network

#### Technical roadmap:

* [x] Added Optimism network (v1.7.5)
* [x] Added Arbitrum network (v1.7.5)
* [x] Added Sepolia, Optimism Kovan and Arbitrum Rinkeby testnet support (v1.7.5)
* [x] Filter DApps for all supported networks (v1.7.5)
* [x] Improve gas price calculation (v1.7.5)

* [x] Improve autodetection of all tokens (v1.7.5)
* [x] Prepare for network deprecation (v1.7.5)

### Q1/2022

Crypto ecosystems changed fast in this quarter and L2 systems gained more and more traction. Also Gnosis Chain (former xDAI Chain) was under new management and Binance did rename their Binance Smart Chain to BNB Chain and focued fully on that network. While we thought that DID integrations will become a thing (e.g. through "Login with Ethereum"), they still got not enough traction to get us conviced implementing more than we have. Therefore, we will wait until a better time.&#x20;

#### Economical roadmap:

* [x] Get involved in running a relyable bridging infrastructure&#x20;
* [x] More DApps in Services and options for sponsering
* [x] Forge more cooperations

#### Technical roadmap:

* [x] Support for all NFT media types (SVG, mp4, mp3, ...) (v1.7.0)
* [x] Sending NFTs (v1.7.0)
* [x] DApp Favorites (v1.7.0)
* [x] Rename xDAI Chain to Gnosis Chain (v1.7.0)

* [x] Improved SuperToken streaming visualization (v1.7.1)
* [x] Support ENS NFTs and Unstoppable Domain NFTs (v1.7.1)

# Official Tester Program

Extensive testing of the Minerva Wallet will be rewarded with streamed MIVA tokens.

{% hint style="info" %}
The program is still being developed and is planned to be launched in Q2/2022.
{% endhint %}

Funding: Minerva Community Pool | $MIVA streaming

The idea is to have a diverse group of Minerva Wallet community members, which use the pre-release version of the Minerva Wallet from the Google Play Store.&#x20;

The staging version is used for internal tests only and distributed via Firebase and will use analytics to support the development with information about bugs and other problems.&#x20;

# FAQ

If you have any additional question don't hesitate to get in touch with us at https\://t.me/minervawallet

## General Questions

### Is Minerva Wallet available for iOS / iPhone?

No, not yet. We want to see some more features completed on Android, before we start working on the iOS implementation.

### Where can I find Minerva Wallet in the Google Play Store?

Minerva Wallet was officially released in April 2020 (see our official [Medium post](https://lab10collective.medium.com/proudly-presenting-minerva-wallet-64128ef966ae)), and it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store [here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=digital.minerva).&#x20;

### What happens if I losse my Secret Recovery Phrase. Can you help me?

The Minerva Wallet is a non-custodial wallet and we have no access or knowledge at any point in time of your Secret Recovery Phrase. Therefore, you need to keep it a secret, store it in a way that noone can access it and never provide it on a website. &#x20;

### Can I become a tester?

Yes, we are working on a public testing option. Right now we are testing internally and once development circles leave enough room for two weeks of public testing, we will onboard well experienced testers to make sure that releases are as bug-free as possible. Join our [Discord](https://discord.gg/UzKcmMZNjm), so that we can keep you in the loop of this upcoming option.&#x20;

# Comparisons

Comparisons between the Minerva wallet and other wallets helps us to see what might we missing features and it helps users with to choose the suitable mobile wallet.

Minerva is part of a 3rd generation of wallets, focusing on ease of use for newcomers and still give power users the needed tools to solve various problems they face when they interact with blockchains via mobile wallets.&#x20;

There are roughly three mobile wallet categories:&#x20;

| Multicoin Wallets                                                                                                                            | EVM-Chain Wallets                                                                                                           | Browser Wallets                                                                                                              |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Multicoin wallets are supporting as many coins and tokens as possible on all sorts of chains with different technologies and key management. | Ethereum protocol focus (mainnet, sidechains, L2) with vast amounts of tokens and an increasing number of connected chains. | The famous Burner Wallet started a new generation of wallets which are just a website and can be opened with every browser. |
| Users have typically a high investment focus and rely on integrations done by the wallet provider. | Users are more DApp oriented and like to experiment with DeFi and the full scale of the token universe. | Users are mostly newcomers learning to handle crypto with rather simple and basic interfaces. |
| <ul><li>Secure</li><li>Dependence on Financial Integrations</li><li>Focus more on Coins </li></ul>                                           | <ul><li>Secure</li><li>Full DApp Support</li><li>Focus on Ethereum or all EVM chains </li></ul>                             | <ul><li>Not Secure</li><li>Easy to Use</li><li>Limited Coin and Token Support</li></ul>                                      |
| Trust Wallet, Exodus, Coinomi, Ledger Live, Atomic Wallet | Minerva Wallet, AlphaWallet, Metamask Mobile, imToken, Argent | Burner Wallet or Minerva Cash |

Every wallet has pros and cons and suits different purposes, supports different applications and chains. Consequently, it is hard to say which one is better and so we try to give a little help to select the most useful one(s) for testing it our yourself.

# How to get xDai

xDai is the native token from Gnosis Chain. Here, we will explain seven (7) possible ways to get it.

xDai is a stable coin that is pegged to the US Dollar. In simpler words, a stable coin that minimizes the usual volatility of most cryptocurrency prices and allows more stability to its transactions. We consider its low transaction fees and fast transaction time a very strong point.

Therefore, we're gonna walk you through seven (7) different ways of getting xDai.

![](/files/-M_eDhuJ9xlPRSfvpaFD)

1. [Move DAI from Binance Smart Chain (BSC)](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/1-move-dai-from-binance-smart-chain-bsc).
2. [Ramp Network](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/2-ramp-network).
3. [AscendEX (Bitmax)](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/3-ascendex-bitmax).
4. [Move DAI from Ethereum Mainnet](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/4-move-dai-from-ethereum-mainnet).
5. [Move DAI from Polygon](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/5-move-dai-from-polygon).
6. [xDai Faucets](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/6-xdai-faucets).
7. [Friendship](/miva-and-xdai-chain/how-to-get-xdai/7-friendship).

{% hint style="info" %}
You'll notice in more than one alternative the use of **bridges**. \
These so called "bridges" are helpful tools used to *convert* tokens between different chains.
{% endhint %}

# (1) Move DAI from Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

Transfer your DAI tokens from Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to the xDai Chain, and convert them into xDai coins using Component.

There is more than one way of doing it. \
We'll show you both ways, and let you choose which route you rather take.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="PancakeSwap Route" %}
This route is fairly easy to follow. First, we swap a cryptocurrency from BSC (such as **BNB**) for one of the three cryptocurrencies accepted on the brigde we'll use later on. Then, making use of that same bridge, we convert them into xDai.

{% hint style="warning" %}
You'll need a few **BNB** to pay the transaction fees.
{% endhint %}

**(1)** Access [PancakeSwap](https://exchange.pancakeswap.finance/#/swap) exchange page.\
**(2)** **Connect** your Wallet (Tap the "**Connect**" at the page's top right corner). \
**(4)** Choose the cryptocurrencies to be exchanged.

![](/files/-MYMlhJSP3i7tgqZop-H)

{% hint style="info" %}
Convert the **cryptocurrency of your choice** into one of these three (3) options: **DAI, USDC or USDT.**
{% endhint %}

Once the exchange is done, go to [**Cross-Chain Bridge.**](https://www.xpollinate.io/)\
**(1)** **Connect** your wallet to the Binance Smart Chain Network.\
**(2)** Select the **Binance Smart Chain Network** as the **outgoing** network \
**(3)** Select **xDai Chain** as the **incoming** network.\
**(4)** Select the **currency** you want to exchange (in this case, **DAI**).\
**(5)** Paste **your Wallet Address** into the "**Receiver Address**" field.\
**(6)** Press the **Cross-Chain Transfer** button.\
**(7)** Wait for a bit, then **Confirm** the transaction.

![](/files/-MYMm1OMm7PdGOaiVX2G)

{% hint style="info" %}
The processing of the transaction may take a few minutes. Don't worry, be happy and wait for it.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

Once it's completed, a pop-up will indicate the **success of the transaction.**

![](/files/-MYMm5l6P2NdBOdtj_0J)

{% hint style="success" %}
&#x20;**Congrats! Go check the newly acquired xDai in your Wallet.**
{% endhint %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="BSC OmniBridge Route" %}
This route is made of three different tools that complete the whole process.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
There's a tutorial [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGqKPqCF6Zc\&t=422s), from a non-official third-party.
{% endhint %}

We start by also making use of a bridge. This one is created by the **xDai Chain** itself, and it's called **BSC OmniBridge**. It allows users to move ERC20 tokens (such as **DAI**, among others) between **xDai Chain** and **BSC.**

{% hint style="danger" %}
Bear in mind, however, that **BSC OmniBridge is a beta software.**\
Use at your own risk.
{% endhint %}

Now, this process might look lengthy, but it's only a repetitive row of clicks. It doesn't hurt to remind you for this very same reason to **always pay attention** to the details and info you're putting in.

**(1)** Access the **BSC** [**OmniBridge**](< https://omni.xdaichain.com/bridge>)**.**\
**(2)** Connect your web3 **wallet,** on the Binance Network.\
**(3)** Select the **token** you want to move (in this case, **DAI**) and the **amount**.

![](/files/-MYMmiZLZUgbd3xFktre)

{% hint style="warning" %}
Pay attention to which token you're selecting.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

**(4)** Click on the **Unlock button** and **confirm it.**\
**(5)** Click on the **Request/Transfer** button and **confirm it again.**\
**(6) Now wait for a bit**, until the processing **ends**, and that's it!

{% hint style="success" %}
**This part is done! The transaction is completed.** \
Your DAI (BSC) tokens are on the xDai Chain.
{% endhint %}

But *we* are not done yet. Just two more little steps ahead. \
The next one is lighter. We'll use another tool, this one named **Component**, and **swap DAI (BSC) tokens for wxDai.**

**(1)** Access [**Component**](https://xdai.component.finance/).\
**(2)** **Connect** your **Wallet,** confirm it, and set it to the **xDai Chain Network**.\
**(3)** Click on the **Swap tab.**\
**(4) Select** to swap **DAI (BSC)** for **wxDAI** and choose the **amount**. \
**(5)** Press **Swap** and **confirm it.**\
**(6)** Wait a second, then press **Execute**, and confirm it again.

![](/files/-MYMnJVoIYZGObfzfj9Y)

{% hint style="success" %}
**There you go! Transaction completed.**\
Second part accomplished.
{% endhint %}

We are *almost* finished. Now, we only need to unwrap these **wxDai** coins.\
And for that, we'll use the last tool, named **WrapEth**.

**(1)** Access [**WrapEth**](https://wrapeth.com/)**.**\
**(2)** **Connect** to your **Wallet** and set it to the **xDai Chain Network**.\
**(3)** Click on the **Unwrap wxDai tab.**\
**(4)** Enter the amount of **wxDai to unwrap.**\
**(5)** Press **Submit** and **confirm it.**\
**(6)** Wait for a short second, and **yes, finally, done! For real.**

![](/files/-MYMn7pFK7UM1LaODD0j)

{% hint style="success" %}
That's it, **you made it!** You have **successfully** converted them all into **xDai.** Check your wallet and enjoy.
{% endhint %}

In case you're hungry for more, you can continue to read about the BSC OmniBridge [here](https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/bridges/binance-smart-chain-omnibridge).
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**OmniBridge Faucet**

In case you choose to use the **BSC OmniBridge,** and your wallet has a balance of 0 xDai, **you'll actually receive a small amount of xDai** **($0.01) when bridging your tokens.** In other words, you'll be granted access to the [OmniBridge Faucet](https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/get-xdai-tokens/xdai-faucet#omnibridge-faucet) - this improves the onboarding process of new users, enabling them to make transactions right away!
{% endhint %}

# (2) Ramp Network

You can buy xDai directly on Ramp Network.

Access the [Ramp](https://ramp.network/) website and press the **"BUY NOW"** button.

![](/files/-MYMjcpv7QvdfnS5cANb)

**(1)** **Select** your preferred **fiat currency**, and adjust the **desired amount**. \
**(2)** Below it, **search the list** of crypto coins for the **xDai coin** option. \
**(3)** Once you've found it, **select it and press "Proceed".**

{% hint style="warning" %}
DAI and xDai aren't the same. Pay attention to select the right one.
{% endhint %}

![](/files/-MYMjwP15rySzCYdliW0)

**(4)** It will ask for a **verification code,** sent to you via e-mail. \
**(5)** Next, you will copy your **xDai Address** and paste it into the address field.\
**(6)** Choose your method of **payment**.

![](/files/-MYMk8i0AQVrpO-Jv5BS)

**(7)** Fill in the **requested info**.\
**(8)** Then, the **Identity Verification Process** starts.&#x20;

![](/files/-MYMkTigVzfNJ6lTtuyq)

{% hint style="info" %}
Don't worry, it's a simple process, and Ramp walks you through it.\
You can choose between verifying yourself with your **passport**, **driver's license** or **national ID card**.
{% endhint %}

![](/files/-MYMkiiFy92eqyQeg6QC)

**(9)** Once you finish it, it will all be processed. It doesn't take long.

![](/files/-MYMkvLoDyjwyjxt4-oR)

**(10)** If your verification is approved, **so is your purchase!**

{% hint style="success" %}
Check your Wallet to see your brand new xDai coins. **Safe and easy!**
{% endhint %}

# (3) AscendEX (Bitmax)

You can directly exchange USDT tokens for xDai coins on AscendEX, formerly known as Bitmax.

{% hint style="info" %}
This option **ONLY** allows users to swap **xDai** for **USDT tokens.** \
Fiat money and other currencies can't be directly exchanged for xDai.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you **don't** have any USDT tokens, you can either buy some with fiat money on AscendEX [here](https://bitmax.io/en/otc/bank-otc), or choose another way of getting xDai.
{% endhint %}

Access the [AscendEX ](https://ascendex.com/en/login)website.\
You can either **Log In**, in case you already have an account, or **Sign Up** for one.

![](/files/-MYMfOPKQZtGE0y3iZZE)

After signing up, you'll still need to verify yourself through one of the options given for security reasons, before being able to start buying, selling or trading anything.

![](/files/-MYMfXVcn67ZZ0XYs3rq)

Log into your account to get started.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
You either already have your USDT tokens there, or you still need to deposit them on AscendEX; if that's the case, follow the tutorial [here](https://bitmaxhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053858033-How-to-Deposit-Digital-Asset-to-AscendEX-PC-).
{% endhint %}

**Once all your USDT tokens are already on AscendEX,** you can start the process of buying xDai coins with them. First things first, let's get to the right page:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Simplest way" %}
{% hint style="success" %}
Easily access the buying page [via this link](https://bitmax.io/en/basic/cashtrade-spottrading/usdt/xdai).
{% endhint %}

![Preview of the linked page.](/files/-MYMgf6FfFtuBdB3BBLo)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Traditional way" %}
Or you can go about the (longer) traditional way:

![](/files/-MYMgIZJtPDJ-gULiMQO)

1. On the main page, open the "**TRADE"** tab.
2. Select "**Cash Trading**", then the **Standard** option.&#x20;
3. At the top left corner of the page, write "**xDai**" in the **search box**.
4. Select the "**XDAI/USDT**" option that will show in the results.
5. At the bottom of the page, you'll see the **BUY/SELL** options.
   {% endtab %}
   {% endtabs %}

Choose between a **LIMIT ORDER** or a **MARKET ORDER**.

* **Limit order:** You buy at a specific price or better.
* **Market order:** You buy immediately at the best available price on the market.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Limit Order" %}

1. Click on **"Limit"**.
2. Enter a **price** and **size** of your choice.
3. Press "**BUY xDAI**"&#x20;
4. Wait for the order to be filled at the price you entered.

![](/files/-MYMgxpF50NnaZo_oJcc)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Market Order" %}

1. Click on "**Market**"&#x20;
2. Enter a **size** of your choice.
3. Press "**BUY xDAI**"&#x20;
4. The order will be immediately filled at the best available price.

![](/files/-MYMh1IY19MiQeDt0TgP)
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

{% hint style="success" %}
**Done? There you have it, your own xDai coins!**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

This process provides a direct channel to the xDai Chain, and better yet, it saves xDai users money on gas, which would usually elevate the cost of transactions.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Almost done! But not quite yet.** \
Now, you need to **WITHDRAW** your newly acquired **xDai** to your wallet.
{% endhint %}

You can check a good video tutorial on how to do that [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfA5yMZUVTw).\
To go straight to the point, follow these next few steps:

![](/files/-MYMhHgsk3_AtQOGupKv)

**(1)** On AscendEX main page, click on "**My Asset"**.\
**(2)** Choose the "**Cash Account"** from the dropdown.\
**(3)** Click on "**Withdrawal**".

![](/files/-MYMhT8WmdNR8eYSy0mB)

**(4)** Select the **token** you want to withdraw (**xDai** in this case). \
**(5)** Fill the requested **info correctly.**\
&#x20; **a.** Select the *Public Chain Type* (attention that **fees** differ based on chains).\
&#x20; **b.** Paste the *Withdrawal Address* from your wallet into the blank address field.\
&#x20; **c.** Specify the desired amount.

![](/files/-MYMhXKQ2H-fqL4xgIv2)

**(6)** Check everything and and press "**Confirm**".\
**(7)** There may be a SMS verification and Google authentication. Enter the codes and **confirm** it again.\
**(8)** After only a couple of minutes, **the xDai will be on your web3 Wallet**.

{% hint style="success" %}
**DONE! This time, for real. Purchase and withdrawal completed.**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

# (4) Move DAI from Ethereum Mainnet

Transfer your DAI tokens from the Ethereum Mainnet to the xDai Chain, and convert them into xDai coins.

You can convert the DAI tokens on your Ethereum network to xDai coins that live on the xDai Chain, using a tool called **xDai TokenBridges,** occasionally shortened to **TokenBridge** or simply **xDai-Bridge**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Here's a [video ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKdh2cOOqUs)that shows this process step-by-step.
{% endhint %}

This very same process but written: \
First, you'll need **DAI tokens**. If you already have some, good for you. If you don't, exchange some fiat money (Euro, USD, etc) for DAI on the Ethereum Mainnet.

**(1)** Now, access the [xDai-bridge](https://dai-bridge.poa.network/).

**(2)** Connect your **web3 wallet** (it will show your balance on both chains).

**(3)** Set the right amount to convert and confirm it.

![Picture courtesy of xDai Chain.](/files/-MYMejju0xnJHV4CeIhk)

**(4)** A **pop-up** will show, revealing the transaction current status.&#x20;

**(5)** Click on it. It will lead you to a page called *Etherscan*, showing you the transaction's pending progression.

**(6)** After some time, the status will show "**success**", **completing the process.**&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
However, **note that there'll still be some time** **before the transaction is official**. This waiting time assures the blockchain everything is in order.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
There's nothing you need to do for now. It also won't take long. After this brief period, the transaction is official and you can now check your balance on both chains and the **successfully exchanged tokens.**
{% endhint %}

This so called "bridge" is a helpful tool used to *move and convert* assets between different chains (like the Ethereum Network and xDai Chain).&#x20;

The xDai Chain has **three different types of bridges** (read more about them [here](https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/bridges)), we covered one of them when talking about BSC, and this other one now, the **xDai-Bridge.** For further details on how this bridge works, [check here](https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/bridges/converting-xdai-via-bridge).

{% hint style="info" %}
**OmniBridge Faucet**

The xDai Chain implemented a new [**OmniBridge Faucet**](https://www.xdaichain.com/for-users/get-xdai-tokens/xdai-faucet#omnibridge-faucet): It automatically deposits a small amount of xDai **($0.01)** to new users bridging their tokens from Ethereum Mainnet or BSC - **applies only to wallets with a 0 xDai balance**. This helps the onboarding process of new users, enabling them to make transactions right away!
{% endhint %}

# (5) Move DAI from Polygon

Transfer your DAI tokens from Polygon (Matic) to the xDai Chain, and convert them into xDai coins.

Following the same premise as the other methods, you can move your DAI tokens from one chain to another, effectively converting them into xDai.&#x20;

This cross-chain bridge lets users convert **DAI on Polygon (Matic) to xDai** (among others). Simple and inexpensive, it's called **Xpollinate.**

{% hint style="danger" %}
Powered by [Connext](https://connext.network/) and [1Hive](https://1hive.org/#/home), **Xpollinate** is a beta software.\
Use at your own risk.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important Note:** You may need a very small amount of **Matic coin** to pay the transaction fee when converting DAI from Matic to the xDai native token on the xDai chain.
{% endhint %}

**(1)** Access[ Xpollinate](https://www.xpollinate.io/).\
**(2)** Connect your web3 **Wallet**.

![](/files/-MZiGKHDnRXrcYNBXZed)

**(3)** **Select** the chain you want to transfer from (**Matic Mainnet to xDai Chain**).\
**(4)** Fill in the **Receiver's address** field: Copy and paste **your own Wallet address.**

![](/files/-MZiJH6kQn1ARZCMrVCp)

\
**(5)** Press the **SWAP** butto&#x6E;**.**\
**(6)** A pop up will show: **Sign in your wallet again** to go to the next step.

It might take a few seconds, but once it is done, this is what you will see:

![](/files/-MZiP65D6uItuNTnAhkL)

**(7)** Proceed to set the chosen **amount of tokens** to transfer.\
**(8)** **Check** the info, to verify you're satisfied with the outcome, and **press Swap.**\
**(9) Confirm** the transaction.\
**(10)** The transaction will be processed and **completed** in a few moments!

Usually it only takes a few seconds, but it might take longer. After the pop-up shows "**SUCCESS**", indicating the transaction's completion, we recommend you to check the balance in your wallet.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Done! Transaction succeeded. Easy and cheap, as promised.**
{% endhint %}

# (6) xDai Faucets

Go to any of the existing xDai Faucets and attempt to claim one xDai for free.

Luckily, there are **three different faucets** for you to try on.

The **first faucet** is provided by ***yours truly!*** \
You'll need at least **10 MIVA** in your account, plus an xDai balance of **0.** \
With both items checked off on the list, you can request **0.01 xDai**.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Fly to the** [**Minerva xDai faucet**](https://minerva.digital/#faucet) and get yourself some **xDai.**
{% endhint %}

The **second faucet** is brought by **Gnosis Chain** itself.&#x20;

{% hint style="success" %}
**Access the** [**Gnosis Chain faucet** ](https://gnosisfaucet.com/)and receive a couple **xDai**.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

Lastly, the **third faucet** belongs to [**1Hive**](https://1hive.org/#/home)**.** \
It's an open community that anyone can be a part of. \
Making justice to their friendly image of buzzy bees, **they also have an xDai faucet.**&#x20;

{% hint style="success" %}
**Go to the** [**1Hive xDai faucet**](https://xdai-faucet.top/) and try to claim some free **xDai.**
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
Now, this one might **NOT WORK**. Why?\
Because this faucet may be already "dry" by the time you get there.
{% endhint %}

**The faucet only allows one free xDai per address.** However, it's known some people create multiple accounts to get more and more from their faucet, disrupting the system. *Don't be like those people.*

One free sample is **plenty**, enough to pay the fees for hundreds of transactions!\
Go and try your luck, we're rooting for you.&#x20;

# (7) Friendship

Have a nice friend or someone you know send you a couple! But remember to be there for them just the same.

> "Networking is an essential part of building wealth." \
> *– Armstrong Williams.*

One can argue the easiest way of all is to receive some xDai as a gift.\
Free of charge, feeless and without any further implications.&#x20;

But who would give a stranger cryptocoins for no reason at all?\
They probably wouldn't - unless you know something we don't.\
Yet, while a stranger wouldn't... *Perhaps a friend could!*

Have a friend of yours send you a few? Friends often gift each other, hint at it!\
Strike a bargain with one, or ask for it as a birthday present, maybe?

*Who knows.* We're only saying it's also a valid idea.&#x20;

Just remember friends don't pester one another more than usual.\
Don't be that annoying friend that ignores common sense and begs around.

Everyone still wants to get invited to next Sunday's poker game, after all!

lab10 collective eG ("lab10" or "we" or "us" or "our") has developed these Terms of Service (these "Terms"), describing the terms that govern your use of the Minerva Wallet Application (the "App" or "Minerva Wallet"), a mobile software application which enables the interaction with blockchain networks and manages decentralized identifiers (one "DID" or many "DIDs"), verifiable credentials (one "VC" or many "VCs") and the interaction with services from websites and other mobile software applications to complement and augment your usage of the blockchains and websites (collectively the "Services").

#### Agreement to Terms  <a href="#termsofservice-agreementtoterms" id="termsofservice-agreementtoterms"></a>

By clicking "I Agree" or by accessing our Site or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree to be bound by these Terms, you must not and are not authorized to use any of the Services.

#### Privacy Policy <a href="#termsofservice-privacypolicy" id="termsofservice-privacypolicy"></a>

Please refer to Minerva's [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy) for information on how we collect, use and disclose information from our users. You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy.

#### Changes to Terms or Services  <a href="#termsofservice-changestotermsorservices" id="termsofservice-changestotermsorservices"></a>

We may modify the Terms at any time, in our sole discretion. If we do so, we'll let you know either by posting the modified Terms on the Site, by providing you a notice through the App, or through other methods of communication which we deem reasonable. The modified Terms will be effective at the time they are posted on the Site. It's important that you review the Terms whenever we modify them because if you continue to use the Services after we have modified the Terms, you are agreeing to be bound by the modified Terms. If you don't agree to be bound by the modified Terms, then you must not use the Services. Because our Services are evolving over time we may change or discontinue all or any part of the Services, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

#### Who May Use the Services <a href="#termsofservice-whomayusetheservices" id="termsofservice-whomayusetheservices"></a>

You may use the Services if you are 13 years or older and are not barred from using the Services under applicable law.

#### Security and Wallet Recovery <a href="#termsofservice-securityandwalletrecovery" id="termsofservice-securityandwalletrecovery"></a>

If you want to use the Services you'll have to create a wallet, which can be recovered via a twelve-word seed phrase ("Seed Phrase"). This Seed Phrase must be kept a secret at all times, as it allows everyone to recover the Minerva Wallet from it.

Within the App you can create accounts ("Account") and DIDs based on that one Seed Phrase. Every activity and all details regarding all Services are stored in encrypted form on the device and on backup systems. At no time the lab10 is able to read or see any of that information or activity done inside the Minerva Wallet.

You're responsible for all activities that occur with your Minerva Wallet, whether or not you know about them.

#### Feedback <a href="#termsofservice-feedback" id="termsofservice-feedback"></a>

We welcome feedback, comments, ideas, and suggestions for improvements to the Services ("Feedback"). You can submit Feedback by joining our Telegram channel through the in-app community function. You grant to us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license under any and all intellectual property rights that you own or control to use, copy, modify, create derivative works based upon and otherwise exploit the Feedback for any purpose.

#### Content Ownership, Responsibility and Removal <a href="#termsofservice-contentownership-responsibilityandremoval" id="termsofservice-contentownership-responsibilityandremoval"></a>

We do not claim any ownership rights in any User Content and nothing in these Terms will be deemed to restrict any rights that you may have to use and exploit your User Content.Subject to the foregoing, lab10 and its licensors exclusively own all right, title and interest in and to the Services and Content, including all associated intellectual property rights. You acknowledge that the Services and Content are protected trademark. You agree not to remove, alter or obscure any trademark, service mark or other proprietary rights notices incorporated in or accompanying the Services or Content.

#### Rights in User Content Granted by You <a href="#termsofservice-rightsinusercontentgrantedbyyou" id="termsofservice-rightsinusercontentgrantedbyyou"></a>

In order to operate and provide our Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, copy, distribute, create derivative works of, display, and perform the User Content that you upload, submit, store, send, or receive on or through our Services. The rights you grant in this license are for the limited purpose of operating and providing our Services. Additional information about your privacy and how we use User Content is available in the Privacy Policy. You can remove your User Content by specifically deleting it.

We are not responsible or liable for the removal or deletion of (or the failure to remove or delete) any of your User Content.

#### Rights in Content Granted by lab10 <a href="#termsofservice-rightsincontentgrantedbylab10" id="termsofservice-rightsincontentgrantedbylab10"></a>

# Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 14, 2020

The lab10 collective eG ("lab10" or "we" or "us" or "our") has developed the Minerva Wallet Application (the "App" or "Minerva Wallet") and recognizes that people who use Minerva Wallet value their privacy. This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how Minerva Wallet collects, uses, shares, and stores personal information of users of our website, [https://minerva.digital](https://minerva.digital/) and our mobile application, (collectively the “Site”). This Policy applies to the Site, applications, products and services (collectively, “Services”) on or in which it is posted, linked, or referenced.

By using the Services, you accept the terms of this Policy and our [Terms of Service](/legal/terms) ("Terms"), and consent to our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your information as described in this Policy. If you have not done so already, please also review our Terms. The terms of use contain provisions that limit our liability to you and require you to resolve any dispute with us under Austrian law. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY OR OUR TERMS OF SERVICE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY OF THE SERVICES.

#### Information We Collect

We receive or collect information when we operate and provide our Services, including when you install, access, or use our Services. &#x20;

#### Information you provide

* Your Identities Information - All DIDs, VCs, Contacts and Attribute information in your identities, which you generate and utilize to access Services, are stored on your own device and in an encrypted form on our server to enable a backup procedure via the Seed Phrase. Therefore, neither we nor any third parties can read them.<br>
* Your Transactions - Your Network private keys, which you utilize to access your assets and initiate transactions, are stored only on your own device. All interactions with Networks are done either done through third-party services (governed by their privacy policy) or are facilitated by services offered by the lab10.
* Your use of Services - Whenever you interact with third-party service providers (e.g. a decentralized exchange or another app on device), it is up to you if you want to consent to the requested information.
* Customer Support - We may collect additional information you may disclose to our customer support team.&#x20;

#### Automatically collected information

* Metrics and Performance Data - We may collect service-related, diagnostic, and performance information. This includes high level information about your activity (such as how you use our Services and how you interact with others using our Services), and diagnostic, crash, website, and performance logs and reports.&#x20;
* Device and Connection Information - We may collect device-specific information when you install, access, or use our Services. This may include your IP address and, if you choose to allow push notifications through Minerva Wallet, your device's unique push token.&#x20;
* Status Information - We may collect information about your online status on our Services, such as when you last used our Services (your „last seen status“). &#x20;

#### How We Use The Information We Collect

Our primary purpose in collecting information is to help us operate, provide, improve, customize, support, and market our Services. We may use your information to:&#x20;

* Provide the Services and customer support you request; &#x20;
* Verify your identity; &#x20;
* Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems;&#x20;
* Prevent and investigate potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and/or violations of our posted Terms;
* Customize, measure, and improve the Services and the content and layout of our application;

and

* Deliver targeted marketing and service update notices based on your communications preferences.

We will not use your information for purposes other than those purposes we have disclosed to you, without your permission.&#x20;

#### Marketing

We will never sell or rent your information to third parties.

Any communications we send to you will either be related to your Minerva Wallet or will be related to the Services. In the event we send any communication to you which is not related specifically to your Minerva Wallet, we will provide you with an „unsubscribe“ mechanism through which you may opt out of receiving other similar messages in the future.&#x20;

We do not allow third-party banner ads on Minerva Wallet, but if we ever do, we will update this policy.&#x20;

#### How Your Information Is Shared With Other Minerva Wallet Users

If you use your Accounts to send a transaction to another user, that user will have access to your transaction information, respectively. Users with whom you interact with may store or re-share your information with others, on or off of our Services.

We, however, will never have access to your underlying messages or store your transaction information.

#### How We Share Information With Third Parties

We work with third-party providers to help us operate, provide, improve, customize, support, and market our Services. For example, we work with companies to distribute our apps, provide our infrastructure, delivery, and other systems. These providers may provide us information about you in certain circumstances; for example, app stores may provide us reports to help us diagnose and fix service issues.

#### We may also share information with law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties when:&#x20;

* We are compelled to do so by a subpoena, court order, or similar legal procedure; or&#x20;
* We believe in good faith that the disclosure of personal information is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, to report suspected illegal activity or to investigate violations of our Terms.

The Minerva Wallet is considered by us as a public good and therefore the lab10, which by itself is a non-profit cooperative, has no intention to make the App available to be acquired.

#### How we keep your information safe

We use a number of technical and procedural measures to ensure the safety of your data.

These include encrypting data, only storing and transferring it where we know it is safe and restricting access to who can see or use the data.&#x20;

#### How you can access or change your information

If you would like to manage, change, limit, or delete your information within the Minerva Wallet, you can always do that on your device and the changed data is backed up on our server.

We do provide a feature within the App that will display your locally stored secret, twelve-word Seed Phrase to you so that you may write it down and keep a copy of it off of your device.<br>

You can also access your Minerva Wallet via another device by using your Seed Phrase and recover the wallet on the other device. Nevertheless, we should highlight, that this might lead to data inconsistencies and you should make sure that you make changes to your data (e.g. transactions, new accounts, etc.) only when you have frequently good internet connection with your devices so that every device can pull the latest data from the server.<br>

You may delete your Minerva Wallet from your device at any time. When you delete your App, your data will stay for six more months on our servers before it may be deleted. This will enable a full recovery even if you have not installed the Minerva Wallet with its corresponding seed phrase on any device for up to six months. After that you will still be able to recover your Accounts and DIDs, but custom names, contacts, transaction history, etc. are starting from afresh.

#### What rights do I have to my information?

You have various rights in your information such as the right to ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete information about you or to restrict our use of it. You also have the right to request us to export or transfer data to other companies and storage places. And you have the right to complain about our use of your data and submit a complaint to the relevant data protection authority.&#x20;

#### Our Global Operations&#x20;

You agree to our information practices, including the collection, use, processing, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy, as well as the transfer and processing of your information to the United States and other countries globally where we have or use facilities, service providers, or partners, regardless of where you use our Services.&#x20;

You acknowledge that the laws, regulations, and standards of the country in which your information is stored or processed may be different from those of your own country. However, we require our service providers to treat your information in strict confidence and use appropriate security measures to protect it. We also require them to uphold all obligations under this Privacy Policy.

#### Updates To Our Policy

We may amend or update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes to this policy by updating the last updated date at the top of this page, and we will provide you with explicit notice of material changes as required by law. Your continued use of our Services confirms your acceptance of our Privacy Policy, as amended. If you do not agree to our Privacy Policy, as amended, you must stop using our Services. We recommend that you visit this page frequently to check for changes.&#x20;

#### Who do I contact to find our more or make a complaint?&#x20;

If you have any questions, comments or complaints regarding how we collect, use and store information about you, join our community Telegram channel linked in the App and ask for further information.

# HD Key-Derivation

The derivation paths used for HD Key-Derivation are important in case someone needs to recover from a seed phrase only and if particular private keys should be imported to other wallets, e.g. Metamask.&#x20;

Minerva uses three derivation paths:&#x20;

Identities (DIDs) -> `m/73'/0'/0'/index`\
Main Networks -> `m/44'/60'/0'/0/index`\
Test Networks -> `m/44'/1'/0'/0/index`

This clear distinction allows Minerva to avoid any mixing of indexes for identities (DIDs), main networks (e.g. Ethereum, ARTIS ∑1 or xDai Chain) and test networks (e.g. Kovan, Rinkeby or Görli).&#x20;

If the Minerva seed phrase (12-words) is imported to Metamask, it will generate the same keys and consequently the same addresses for **main networks**.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
Metamask **won't** be able to access your tokens and coins you handled in Minerva on the test networks like Kovan, Rinkeby, Görli, etc. unless you use another tool to get a private key for the account at a specific path and import that into Metamask.
{% endhint %}
